Spellforce 1 save game editing with hex editor v1.50 v1.52 v1.54
There is a way to edit the savegame version
1. Open the savegame with a hex editor
2. Find something in the first line like:
12 DD 72 DD 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 9A 00 00 00
3. Edit it:
12 DD 72 DD 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 98 00 00 00
4.
* 9A = 1.54
* 98 = 1.52
* 96 = 1.50
This should make your savegames compatible.
It is super easy, Download HxD hex editor from Cnet,
install, open the save,
and on the very first line, change the 4th value from right

Edit Spellforce 1 item
Download Artmoney and install, just press [continue] if any options are given either during install,
or when you launch Artmoney.
Buy a fireburst lv 1 and place it in an empty slot in the spellbook.
Make a save.
Start SF 1 and alt tab down to window, then launch artmoney and press [continue] on the pop up window.
Then select spellforce in the select process scroll down menu.
Then click Search and search for Exact value, value =102, type Custom, Address range All,
at custom there is a button with three dots, click it and mark 2 & 4 bytes.
Now click ok and the program will scan for all 2 & 4 byte values, click OK and go back to spellforce,
move the fireburst lv 1 spell to another slot and alt tab back to windows.
Then click filter, change value from 102 to 0, and click OK, click ok once more and then go back to spellforce, move the fireburst lv 1 spell back to the original slot and alt tab back to windows,
and now filter once more by changing value from 0 to 102 once more, and then click OK, and another ok.
Now there should be in the left column: two 4 byte values and one 2 byte value,
doubleclick on the 2 byte value and it will appear in the right column.
Change that value of 102 into whatever item you want, like 3511 for shadowpulse armor,
then go back to spellforce and lift up the fireburst lv 1 spell, it will now transform into shadowpulse armor that you can place in item inventory, and then alt tab back to windows, change the value from 3511 back to 102.
It is necessary to change back to 102 before closing artmoney
